Siemens/Bayer Immunoassay Reagent Expansion

Work is currently underway at an expansion of the Siemens/Bayer facility in Walpole, Massachusetts.
Work on this project is the 4th expansion of this facility that J. Derenzo has been involved with,
dating to the early 1990’s. The jet grouting and underpinning required to support the existing building
foundation made this project challenging. Our work includes:
- Excavation, site cuts and fills of approximately 36,000 cubic yards;
- Design and installation of jet grouted wall along existing building foundation, including
underpinning of existing footings;
- Design and installation of temporary earth support of excavation (steel sheeting with tiebacks);
- Installation of all new utilities including water, sewer and drainage;
- Excavation and backfill for site lighting with light pole bases;
- Finish site work including sidewalks, 3,500 linear feet of new curbing and bituminous pavement
for all parking and roadway areas
- Includes a new detention system
